Appear with Him in Glory

New Year's Day reminds us that what God promises will certainly come, no matter how long the wait may seem. Waiting for the Coming of Christ is a great motive for Christian living. Christ is the believer's life: its origin in creation, redemption, and resurrection. Christ will appear, no matter how long the wait. It will be the Christ of Behtlehem and Calvary, the Christ who rules all things from glory, and the Christ who loved us and gave himself for us. Then we will see his glory - hard to understand but including the quality and number of his redeemed people. Amazingly, believers will appear with him in glory! His love does more than bering forgiveness and adoption - he calls them his Bride and he will associate them with himself in his glory. Therefore we should: seek heavenly thinigs; set our affection on them; and separate from the old sinful ways in favour of the new man.
