Our Future in Light of Our Past

On the first part of the program today, I will speak with Warren Cole Smith - associate publisher of WORLD Magazine. Warren will summerize for us the 'Future Trends' articles in the latest issue of WORLD Magazine.

On the second half of the program, I will speak with Author and Musician David Teems about his book entitled, 'Majestie - The King Behind the King James Bible'.

A recent in the Washington Times, entitled, 'King James Bible 400-Year Reign' stated, '

The King James Version of the Bible, also known as the 'Authorized Version,' marks its 400th anniversary in 2011, and by any measure, it has had a lasting impact on the world and on the language into which it was sent. The 'authorized' moniker comes from a title-page declaration that this Bible was 'authorized to be read in churches.'

The translation of the Christian Bible known as the King James Version is the most read book of all time in the Western world, yet the story of how it came about is one that is generally skipped over in historical accounts.

This popular account of King James brings forth his life in a manner that makes you feel for the poor boy and have some respect for the man. Told in a manner more fitting for a historical novel rather than a formal history, Teems lays the historical context of what was happening in English life at the time.
