Broken Ground

91

GOD uses broken things.

Examples of this are Gideon with his bottles, torches and horns; and the woman with the alabaster box.

Gideon's army used clay pitchers to cover the flame of their torches, when Gideon gave the order to brake the vessels, the bright light shone round the camp and they went down. The vessel represents our bodies and the flame our Spirit. When our self will is broken, God's light in us will shine forth. Judges 7:20-21

When the woman broke the alabaster box, and anointed our King, she surrendered all she had, in belief and praise to our LORD. Luke 7:37-38.

Now in Hosea, the LORD asks we deny ourselves in deep humility. Seek revival of our hearts and minds, to the matter of Christ in us.

You may ask:

  1. How Do You Get Hard Ground?

Fallow ground is hard uncultivated soil. Liken to a place in our hearts knowing the ways of the LORD and purposefully forbidding HIS will in all our matters. Hebrews 3:15

a) It is not wise. Matthew 7:24-26
b) It is not right. James 4:17
c) It is, not loving. John 14:15.

1Thessalonians 5:19, Quench not the Spirit.

  1. How To Break Up The Fallow Ground?

a) Humility
Isaiah 57:15
Contrite means “smashed to pieces”, broken.

b) Confession
Proverbs 28:13,14
Following HIS Will, enables the right responses and reconciliation. Publicly proclaim HIS name and accept HIS invitation to do HIS work and ministry.

  1. How Do You Keep It (Hardened Heart) From Returning?

a) Keep responding and restore your relationship with GOD.
Hebrews 3:13-15

b) Keep seeking GOD, seek the LORD urgently.

Hebrews 10:25

Won't you break up your fallow ground?
