The Face of God (Psa. 42)

In Psalm 42, David struggles with three key issues in his life: (1) overwhelming trials sent from God, (2) oppression from his enemies, and (3) depression and despair in his own soul. Yet, in the midst of all this he has not lost hope: he knows the answer for dealing with all these struggles is to seek the face of God. To worship Him, to spend time in His presence, to sit at His feet, to behold His face - this is the greatest need of every Christian and the greatest source of help from God. It is also the surest source of transformation of our own lives and attitudes, for as we behold the face of God we will find our own faces transformed and reflecting His glory.
