A New Start For A New Year

In Joshua 1 God's people faced a new start. As they faced a new start God gave them a major principle for success in their lives.

If you were to study the authorized version of the Bible you would find that the word success is mentioned only once throughout the entire Bible and that is Joshua 1.8.

As we begin the year 2021 we need to think about this.
What will enable me as a Christian to have a successful year?

None of us know what 2021 will bring.

None of us knew what 2020 would bring but it was a year like no other, wasn't it?

Whether this year is a year of trials or a year of triumph for you. God has given us his principles for success in Joshua chapter 1.
Under God we can be successful and happy even though we might experience great trials.

Just as we begin our year in 2021 we are reminded in Joshua chapter 1 that God's people were on the edge of a new beginning.
The Israelite's had wandered in the wilderness for some 40 years.
In Joshua chapter 1 we are reminded that the people of God were about to enter the land of Canaan. There was a great transition for the people.

Some 40 years on after their wilderness journey began the Israelite's are again on the threshold of entering the land of Canaan.
Canaan was a land of great walled cities, and a land where the enemies were advanced in their military capabilities. They would be entering the land of the Canaanites, the land of Giants who possessed Iron chariots.

No matter what happens this year, we must continue to trust God's Promises in His Word.

God Promised them a Land and God Promised them protection and God promised them His presence.
