The Fruit of the Spirit

Left to themselves it is impossible for carnal flesh to do anything but sin against God. Whether in thought or in deed, in motion or motive, our best works are nothing but a cesspool of sin against God. The restraining power of the Holy Spirit holds a tight check-rein on mortal sins or our streets would run with blood. But men and women who have been saved by God's grace are given the Holy Spirit to guide them and deliver them from the bondage of sin. Here we see the evident fruits of God's Spirit working in our souls.
