God's First Covenant with Man

God has always chosen to fellowship with Mankind through covenant. The one commandment that Jehovah God gave to Adam was in the form of a covenant, a covenant of works sovereignly initiated and imposed, with a condition, blessings and sanctions, and a sacramental tree that was used as a sign of the covenant. Adam's whole life with God in Paradise depended on him obeying God in this one commandment and sovereignly imposed covenant of works.
