Before the God of heaven

As he considered the desolation of God's city and people, Nehemiah came before the God of heaven. In doing so, he teaches us something of what it means to pray. He models adoration of God, confession of sin, appreciation of promise, recollection of favour, and supplication for blessing. May we learn from Nehemiah to come before the Lord God of heaven, and obtain from him the mercies we need!
