Flying Scroll and Flying Ephah

What is the vision of the flying scroll and flying ephah all about? Although the imagery may be confusing, the message is actually very straightforward. We simply need to properly interpret the imagery in light of the context and by carefully looking at the Hebrew text. God is purging iniquity from the land of Israel and bringing judgment on those who are opposing his decree to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. This has a powerful application to God's people today who are facing opposition while they are building God's kingdom through the proclamation of the Gospel.
