The Centurion's Servant Healed

This incident represents Christ as able to cure from a distance and in the absence of the scoffers just by speaking a word. Each of these healings is guided by the Holy Spirit and affords a view of our Lord's solemn warning to the nation. Luke wrote for the Gentiles and introduced the gospel to the Gentiles to suppress their proud conceit. This miracle occurs as Jesus comes to Capernaum and Luke gives us a close glimpse of the details and circumstances.
