Made Like His Brothers

Although the Church for centuries has confessed that our Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man in one person, there is sometimes a tendency even in the minds of Christians to consider him as something less than fully human. This text reveals clearly that Jesus is of the same exact nature as ourselves, yet without sin. He is like us "in every respect," even to the point of dying. Other sections in Hebrews explains the necessity of him being fully human in order to be an acceptable sacrifice for our sins, in order to be our high priest, and in order to come to our aid in times of temptation.
