The Burial of Jacob

Jacob the old patriarch has embraced death and has departed his home of 147 years. In this chapter we find Joseph striving to keep the promises he had made to his father with regard to his burial at Machpelah. We see a magnificent state funeral for Joseph's father including an extended period of mourning by the Egyptians who had apparently come to care a great deal for Jacob. God is so good to care for His people in life and in death.
