Song of Redemption

44 ( 32 | 12 )

In Revelation 5:9-10 the "elders" sing the song of the redeemed to the Lamb. In verses eleven and twelve, the angels join the chorus. Then, as if that chorus of the redeemed with the angels is not enough voices praising the Lamb for His redemption, the rest of creation joins the choir (verses 13-14). Now that their faith has become sight, the hearts of the redeemed are genuinely engaged in worship and praise of their Redeemer. Like John, they "beheld" (vs.11) -they see and fully understand.

The redemption song of the twenty-four elders is another reason to understand that these are not angels, but those redeemed by the Lamb of God (see verse ten). The twenty-four elders are offering a song of praise for specific things relevant only to the redeemed, not to angels. Angels are never made a kingdom of priests, nor will they "reign on the earth" with King Jesus.
