How the Gospel Progresses

3 Ways the Progress of the Gospel is Accomplished
  1) Through the mission of Paul (v.12)
     - Sufferings as an example (v.29)
     - Gives up his right to cause no hindrance to the gospel (1 Cor. 9:12)
     - Singular passion for evangelism
  2) Outside of the church (v.13)
     - Paul's missionary activity was Christ centered
     - The proper way to go through affliction (1 Peter 4:12-16)
  3) Inside of the church (v.14)
     - Courage for speaking the Word (1 Thes. 2:1-2, 9 ,14)
     - Courage needs to be sustained (Eph. 6:18-20)
