Winning Souls, Not Arguments

105 ( 88 | 17 )

When is it necessary to tell someone they’re wrong? How should this be done, and for what purpose? “A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all...” 2 Timothy 2:24 (NKJV) An argumentative, contentious spirit seldom commends God’s truth to others. It simply leads to verbal sparring, or worse, and distorts our reflection of Christ. The Apostle Paul appealed to Timothy to bravely confront false teachers, but to do so with the gentleness and humility of Christ. He was to trust in God to change wayward hearts, not the force of argument. How badly this truth is needed in our age of brashness and bickering!
