Why was Israel Defeated?

After Jericho, Israel suffered a devastating defeat against Ai. They went against them in confidence, in their own strength. Why were they defeated? They were defeated because of their sin. God placed a boundary before them and this line was crossed, to God's displeasure. Let us heed this lesson learned by Israel in our own life.
