God's Response to a Lawless Age – Pt 2 of 2

Matthew 24:12 -- "And because iniquity [lawlessness] shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."

Romans 1:18 -- "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness."

The last half of Romans 1 is an exposition of what happens when God reveals His wrath against a lawless age, as He did in the pagan world of Paul's day. Yet it is a tragic and frightening picture of what we are seeing take place in our own nation.

To borrow the words of Moses in Numbers 16:46, "There is wrath gone out from before the LORD." The chilling display of God's wrath against a lawless age is that God removes His hand of restraint and gives up the lawless to pursue the evil lusts of their heart. Read the list of sins that mark a lawless age in this chapter and you will see it mirrored in America.
