Under Grace

On one hand, we have those who believe that unless the Lord is truly permitted to be Lord over one's life all the time, the salvation that the individual enjoys is in danger of being lost. While this might not happen instantaneously, it can be the ultimate consequence of failing to submit your life to the Lord on a constant basis.
On the other hand, we have people who believe that salvation can never be lost and that salvation and His Lordship are permanently intertwined. Yes, it is the Christian's obligation to submit to the Lord, but these folks believe that while we cooperate with the Lord in this endeavor it is the Lord Himself who carries the bulk of the responsibility in making this happen.
