Ch. 3 can be divided into two parts: (vv1-11) The lame man healed; (vv12-26) Preaching of Peter (two parts: a. Explanation of Phenomenon; b. Proclamation of the Gospel)

I. SIMPLE EXPOSITION
v1 3 pm; time of evening oblation

vv2-3 This certain man was carried to the main entrance of the Temple, daily (Beautiful Gate is along the east side, as a main entrance to the whole Temple Mount, including the Court of Gentiles-- v8, 11). He is over 40 years old (4:22).

Jesus has passed by this man every time He came to Jerusalem

vv4-5 Mt 6:22; man's head bowed, no eye contact.

v6 Every child of God is riches with the wealth of heaven. We abound in grace regardless of our state or condition, if saved.

vv7-8 Peter takes his right hand, already uplifted.

vv9-10 There was no question in anyone's mind that this was the lame beggar they had seen day after day and year after year.

v11, This got everybody's attention.

v12 Peter explains the phenomenon.

vv13-26 Peter preaches the everlasting Gospel.

II. COMMENTS CONCERNING THIS TESTIMONY
