The second scene Christian sees at Interpreter's house is the dusty room. This scene teaches Christian the difference between those who attempt to make themselves acceptable to God through personal performance in religion and those in whose hearts God has worked through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Christ is based on Christ's performance and sacrifice being given freely to the person who has faith in Him. What a delightful release from religious slavery, to come into the freedom of the blessings Christ has purchased for His people!
