The Greater Glory of the NT Administration

The comparison the Apostle is making in these verses may have been to counteract the Judaisers who opposed his ministry; or to stress the greater glory of the NT ministry in order to increase the sense of obligation the Corinthians should have towards his teaching.

1. The acknowledged glory of the OT administration v7. The shining of Moses' face exemplified this glory.
2. The comparatively greater glory of the NT ministry. It is important to define the comparison closely.
   i) the comparison of duration
   ii) the comparison of content
   iii) the comparison of effectiveness
3. The greater responsibility of NT hearers. The greater fullness of revelation and evident effects of the gospel increase guilt and obligation - we must be content with the outward simplicity of our worship and seek more of the reality of the Spirit of God.
