Received up in Glory

The world craves after glory. Only in Christ do we discover the true glory that satisfies our souls and for which we were destined for. Any other glory is a shabby, trivial substitute.
For Christ to be taken to glory speaks of where God has lifted His beloved Son - crowned with glory and honour for fully bearing our sin and death. Reigning at the Father's right hand exercising all the authority of God He is the only one of us who has fully overcome this present darkness! We now have a glorious man in heaven who is Lord over all things for us and for our mission in this world!
This brilliant glory of Christ is not only His. It belongs to His blood bought Bride. What He is now as the One who alone has conquered reveals the glory that we are destined to share in but it also changes everything in the present - for us and for the world in which we are sent. We can only live and stand and pray no matter what we face with unimaginable expectation because of Christ's present power and because of nothing else!
