Pergamos: No Compromise

We come to the third of the letters to the churches. The church at Pergamos was under great pressure to bow the knee to Caesar rather than Christ. Many had been faithful despite the terrible cost, but some had compromised and sought to mix the worship of Christ with the worship of Caesar. We see here the clear call of Christ to the church to repent - and to exercise church discipline. How concerned are we with the purity of the local church, and the testimony we bear before a dying world?
