LBCF Chapter 20: Of the Gospel

This is not found in the Westminster Confession of 1644. It was added to the Savoy Declaration in 1658. This chapter basically teaches that the gospel is contained in scripture alone, it is sent to those whom God sovereignly sends it and it is absolutely essential for people to be saved. People in our day teach all religions lead us to God. Many rely on mysticism, meditation and spirituality as a means to hear from God. The Bible teaches that you cannot know God or His gospel in your own strength, meditations and reasoning's. He must be found where He has revealed Himself in the Bible.
