(Luke 5.1-28)

'I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also:
for therefore am I sent'.

I. A miraculous catch of fish (5.1-11)

A. How Jesus engaged in his prophetic office. (verses 1-3).

B. How Jesus demonstrated his kingly office. (verses 4-7).

C. What impact these things had on Peter, James and John.

(1) A sense of sin.

(2) What answer Christ had. (verses 8-11).

II. A Leper healed (5.12-16)

A. A sinner full of leprosy. (verse 12).

B. A Saviour full of grace (verse 13).

C. A society full of ferment (verses 15-16)(Mark 6.45-46)

III. Paralytic healed (5.17-26)

A. Determination to reach the Lord Jesus. (verse 19).

B. Blessing from the Lord Jesus. (verse 20).

C. Reproof of the Saviour's critics. (verses 21-25).

Conclusion

Luke's account concludes,(verse 26)(Luke 16.30b-31).
