Christ, the Fount of All Blessing

What a letter which John has written, being carried along, inspired by the Holy Spirit, to give to the church in every age authoritative and life-giving statements about the glory and nature of the Triune Lord, His work of salvation towards sinners, and the call to walk in both the knowledge and practice of the True Faith which He has revealed. All of this culminates in the Person and Work of Christ Jesus, in whom we have redemption, and through Christ union with the Godhead. At the end of this epistle John puts a nice "bow" on it by reminding the saints in every age, that doctrine and devotion find their inception, power and purpose in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ.
