The King of the Jews

The titulus of Pilate was a sentence passed and a prophecy fulfilled.

1. God allowed His only begotten Son to die on the cross in order to redeem you. There simply was no other way to accomplish this work. Pilate and other Gentiles along with Caiaphas and many Jews killed an innocent man. Pilate even recognizes this and still goes through with it. How can we not place our trust in such a gracious God?
   2. One of the greatest privileges we have is a kingdom waiting for us. Now we face suffering. We are fools for Christ's sake. We are labeled hypocrites and fanatics. Yet we are holy ones set apart for the glory of God. We walk the same road of suffering Jesus walked, but we don't travel alone. He is Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. We also are kings and priests to His God and Father (Revelation 1.6). We shall reign with Him. Christ has bestowed upon us a kingdom, just as His Father bestowed one on Him (Luke 22.29). We shall sit with Christ on His throne (Revelation 3.21). If we are children, then we are also heirs - heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together (Romans 8.17).
