Walking On Water

After the miracle where Jesus gave thanks and fed 5,000 plus people, Jesus made His disciples get into a boat. The disciples were exhausted but they were in the boat because Jesus told them to go to the other side. Often, the easiest thing to do is to do the opposite of what we are supposed to do. We cannot walk on water unless we are Jesus or Jesus tells us to. There are times when Jesus comes and saves us and it appears like things get worse. God often puts us in scary situations, not to frighten us, but to teach us how not to be afraid. If God tells us to do the impossible, we will be able to do it. We must make sure it truly is God who is telling us. It is not our fault if we feel fear, that is normal. Becoming afraid, embracing the fear, is a choice and God says not to be afraid. Peter was the only person that Jesus called out of the boat. We need to be sure to listen to Jesus and not just do whatever anyone else does. Our courage, peace, and ability not to be afraid come from Jesus. Jesus is to be worshiped because Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is God.
