They came by their tens of thousands to attend Christ's preaching and healing ministry. While many a modern-day evangelist would have basked in the sunshine of such popularity and sought for more, Jesus Christ gave a strong admonition to the people he healed, "not to make him known." Then He actually withdrew from the clamoring crowds and went into a mountain to pray. This underscores one of the outstanding marks of Christ's earthly ministry and one that will mark all ministries that want to follow Christ's example.
