God's Gift of Suffering for Christ

It's late. It's dark. You feel all alone. And worst of all, you've been driving for the last hour wondering where in the heck you even are.

And then it happens. A sign! Praise God, I am on the right road. I am not lost and going in the completely wrong direction.

Suffering is God's road sign that shows Christians that they are on the right path. Sanctification Street is not an easy path, but it's the right one.

But take courage, saints, for the signs are tinged w/ blood. Someone has already taken this road before us. And that person is our Lord, Jesus Christ, our Suffering Servant.

Let us follow His example, relying solely upon the grace of God to get us there.

God graciously gives all His children the gift of suffering. But this is to increase their given faith. Rejoice, that lump of coal He has given us will be transformed into a glorious diamond for all to see.

Do not be surprised: we are in a war. Our culture is increasingly growing hostile to the Light of the world. Will we hide it, or will we shine it? If we shine, let us be prepared to receive with thanksgiving God's sovereign & gracious gift.
