Gospel in the Old Testament Part 35-Raising up of the Tabernacle

In Acts 15 the early church leadership met to discuss the wonderful, but troubling to the Jews, salvation that God had extended to the gentiles as they responded to the Gospel. How could this possibly fit with the clear prohibitions that God placed on the Jews concerning their contact with the gentiles? During the discussion James spoke of the passage in Amos 9:11 concerning the promise of God to raise up the tabernacle of David. This is a study of what the Lord was promising when He spoke of the future raising up of the tabernacle of David. Is this really a promise of the church as so many believe?
