09 The Risen Christ in His Present Glory

THE RISEN CHRIST IN HIS PRESENT GLORY
TEXT: REVELATION 4:1-11

SUMMARY:
God's revelations of the glories of His Son, both before His first coming and after His Resurrection, direct us to consider both our present condition and our future destiny.

I. CONSIDERING CHRIST'S FORMER GLORY POINTS US TO A HUMBLE VIEW OF OUR PRESENT CONDITION.
A. What do we know of the Pre-Incarnate Christ, or Christ in the OT?
B. But then, when the fullness of time was come, “the Word was made flesh,”
C. And then we can't ignore glorious power of the Resurrection

II. CONSIDERING CHRIST'S PRESENT GLORY POINTS US TO A SOBER VIEW OF OUR FUTURE DESTINY.
A. First, John tells us of the Central Focus of the Vision.
B. The Attributes of the One on the Throne, Pictured by: Images out of nature (precious stones, the rainbow, thunders & lightenings, the sea of glass) - four living creatures.
C. The worshipers and their songs around the throne. The living creatures – the cherubim – the 24 elders.
