Honoring Jurisdiction

Scripture shows that when our anger and passion well up and cause us to become avengers of wrath, we are loudly proclaiming our distrust in the way God has ordered things to be and with the way He is carrying out His responsibilities. There is no doubt that wrongdoing merits vengeance, but the issue has to do with who has been granted authority to administer that vengeance? What Paul exhorts us to do is to forget about vengeance and focus upon our own responsibilities in that context, which is to actively pursue that which will bless the one who injured us. It is only by faith that we can follow this counsel and overcome evil with good.
