Mary's Greatest Need

56 ( 34 | 22 )

Mary's greatest need was the same need that all of humanity has and that is the need for salvation.

Mary was a sinner and so she needed a Savior to redeem her.

The Roman Catholic Church falsely claim that Mary was sinless but the Bible speaks otherwise. Every human being aprat from the Lord Jesus Christ has sinned. Romans 3.23 tells us that all have sinned and that includes Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Mary needed a Savior and so do we all. Mary's Savior and our Savior is the Lord Jesus.

In Luke chapter 1, Mary, who was a young Jewish girl was visited by the angel Gabriel and the Angel informed her that she had favour with God and that she would conceive a child who was to be named Jesus.

The name Jesus means Yaweh is Salvation or the Lord is Salvation.

The Jewish people had a salvation history.

They knew that the creator God was a saving God.

The Jews in their history had been saved out of the Bondage of Egypt.

They had been preserved through the Red Sea. God had worked mightily on behalf of the Nation.

Godly Jews believed that one day the Lord would send a Messiah who would redeem them from their sins.

Mary is just a teenager when she received the news that she was going to give birth to Jesus.
Mary is a Virgin and the conception of Jesus would be caused by the Holy Spirit.

Being pregnant before marriage in the times that Mary lived in brought about great difficulty for an unmarried woman. She could have been shunned from her society and could have been made an outcast.

Mary submitted to the Lord's Will.

After the announcement Mary goes and visits her cousin Elizabeth.

When Mary visits Elizabeth she praises God for his grace.
