Proclaimed and Believed!

We proclaim that God has truly entered human history – in fact taken hold of our humanity in the incarnation as a fact of history redeeming it by His own blood and raising it from death to life. But we know that God has not yet unveiled His vindicated risen Son to the world nor our own glorified destiny in HIm apart from faith - hearing and believing God's vindication of His Son in and by the Spirit in the gospel.

So through this proclamation we came to believe in Christ even though we could not see Him but we do see Him wonderfully through the sight of faith. The eyes of our heart are enlightened to see what angels see and we love Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy!

What is given to the world is not visible proof of the truth and reality of the crucified and risen Christ but the ongoing proclamation and ministry of Christ - by the Holy Spirit through the church. Proclamation is not what Christians do in the absence of Christ – it is the very evidence that Christ is still among us finishing what He had begun.
