A City Destroyed, A Harlot Preserved

Tonight we will examine two additional cases of faith at work in the Old Testament. The destruction of the city of Jericho at the command of God and intercessory work of a harlot to protect God's spies and to prepare them for the conquest that is soon to come to pass. The destruction of Jericho is the first step in a centuries long curse against that city. The example of Rahab is an admiral view of God changing a mind and a heart even among the most carnal and idolatrous people. She had heard about the power of God and she believed it. She understood how foolish the people of Jericho were and she knew that her only hope was to trust God ad to assist His spies. Faith is a glorious gift that falls on men and women by God's sovereign purpose; that same faith is with us today!
