God Is Happy (And You Should Be Too!)

Paul refers to God as “the blessed God”. Although we often think and talk about God being good, loving – even wrathful – the truth is that God is also supremely, perfectly, and always happy!

One of the best modern equivalents for the idea of "blessedness" in the Greek language is "happy"; it is even translated with that word several times. Here Paul calls God “the happy God”, and goes on to say that Paul himself is also in a happy situation – “I thank God” – because God has called him to minister the glorious gospel of Christ Jesus our Lord.

In this message, we consider then these three clear points from Paul’s statement: 1) God is happy, 2) We are most happy when we are like God, and so 3) We should strive to help others find happiness in God also.

This message concludes with some inspiring examples of the truly, deeply, eternally happy believers with whom Pastor Justin came into contact on his recent Peru mission.
