Although one may never suspect it given the 'happy-clappy', felt-needs, seeker-sensitive climate in so many churches today, true Christianity places the believer into a spiritual battle of mammoth proportions with eternal consequences. This is precisely why the apostle Paul challenged his young protege Timothy to 'fight the good fight'. He wanted Timothy to understand that far from being a life of ease; far from being a life blessed with material wealth and physical health, genuine Christianity can be an agonizing experience.
