The very infant stages of church history are being laid down for us in these first chapters of Acts. Chapter 5 tells of the incident in which Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, are exposed for rank hypocrisy, deceit and the act of lying to God the Holy Ghost. It will cost them their lives. This chapter holds some sobering and important lessons for us as we continue our expository study of the Acts of the Apostles from the King James Bible.
