Jonah disobeyed when God called him to go 550 miles to the east to the city of Ninevah, but soon found that disobedience can come at a very high price. "The safest place to possibly be on planet earth is the center of the will of God," says Dr. John Whitcomb. "Leave your imaginations and fears to God." When Jonah veered from the will of God, however, he was rebuked and chastened by the pagan crew of the ship he had taken, giving us powerful lessons that we can still apply to our lives today.
