The Jerusalem Council

There was a disagreement in the early church as to whether circumcision and following the law of Moses should be required of Gentile converts. The church at Jerusalem called together a council of apostles and elders to hear Peter, Paul, and Barnabas give their accounts of preaching to the Gentiles. We need to understand this important assembly within the early church and make sure that the traditions and practices of our churches today are grounded in love and God's Word.
