This is a study of Paul's first epistle, the epistle to the Church at Thessalonica. This is the first epistle that Paul ever wrote. Thessalonica was a Roman Colony city, right in the heart of the Roman empire, with a rich, long and varied history. This passage deals with the day of the Lord, when after millenniums of His great patience and compassion displayed, He will pour out His wrath on the Christ hating and unrepentant evil ones on this earth. The day of wrath will not include the body of Christ, because we are not of the night but of the day and all by His grace, Sons of light. He has not destined His bride to be, for the wrath that He will pour out on the Christ rejecting world. Because He died for us, we can be sure that He will remove His own body from the Christ rejecting earth, before He pours out His just and righteous wrath. In this study we look at God's word concerning our proper response to the leading of the Holy Spirit as He leads us through the Scriptures, causing us to remember what the Word has to say on about the situation we are presently facing. This makes it clear how important it is for us to know what God's word has to say to the body of Christ so by the Holy Spirit we can recall it to mind. We are not to despise the forth telling of the Word of God no matter who the Lord uses to bring it to our attention. When anyone speaks the Word or claims to speak the Word to us, we are responsible to carefully examine that word in light of God's written word. Because we are in a war on three fronts we can not afford to stray from the truth, because it is our only offensive weapon in these battles.
