Rebuke for Tolerance

What Christ knew about the church at Thyatira brought them much commendation. Nonetheless what was commendable did not serve to offset that which brought them under His condemnation. Their toleration of what was false teaching and the outflow of ungodly influence was leading them into idolatry and immorality. Such goes on today in many churches as the forms and facets of false teaching with its unbiblical practices merely have different window dressings. While the popular notion of the world at large is for greater tolerance, that must not be the perspective and practice of the church. The church of Jesus Christ must hold to, and be practicing, the precepts and patterns in the unchanging Word of God.
