Does the Church Really Matter?

People don't care much about how the church functions. It doesn't even seem to bother many in the local church. But if God's saving work through Jesus is important, so is the church. If God revealed His glory in Eden, if He revealed Himself in glory in the tabernacle, then He is revealing Himself today in glory in His church. This is the household of God! Our generation may have forgotten who God is, and how terrifying He is. That would account for the fact that He is seen as a magic genie, rather than a consuming fire. So the church is important, because of who God is and what he has required. Also, the church is the fort in which the truth resides. We are relentlessly about the truth. If this is not true in the local church, how can they even call themselves a church? We need to deliberately train ourselves to know the truth. We are here in this world for Christ!
