Authority Over Demons

Matthew 8:14-17 relates how Jesus has authority over both sickness and demons. Our culture responds to the subject of demons by either rejecting their existence as superstition, or by being obsessed with the subject. There are three Biblical categories of demonic activity against humans: influence, oppression, and demonization (possession). Jesus demonstrated that He has authority over demons by casting out evil spirits from demonized people with just a word.
