When Life and Living is Miserable

Problems often come in triplicate - troubles and difficulties can pile up one on top of another and can cause us to feel completely overwhelmed, exhausted physically and mentally. So it was with Jeremiah. His whole life was one catalogue of troubles and difficulties. In this chapter we see him brought very low and deeply discouraged, to the point of questioning his very existence.

1. Persecuted yet faithful.
2. Troubled yet trusting.
3. Complaining yet cautious.
   Application: 1. The greatest opponents of the truth are sometimes in the pulpit. 2. A warning: God in the exercise of his sovereignty can reduce you to a nervous wreck. 3. You can bring all your troubles to God. 4. Believers sometimes suffer much for God. 5. Great suffering and affliction can make us question the value of our existence. Stay yourself on Romans chapter 5: "we glory in tribluations..."
