"…Another point in Zephaniah that we want to bring out, notice in chapter two, chapter two, in verse number 11, this is one of those veiled pictures that probably would not be understood completely by an older testament group of people, but we see it in Christ, what he's done. Verse number 11, the Lord will be awesome. King James used the word terrible, right? That's the idea: the word terrible. has an idea of it. It's so the magnitude of it is so gripping that it grabs all your attention. And that's why they would use the word when a terrible thing happens to somebody, it usually gets their focus. So you take the positive side of it, we're talking about God's going to do something so awesome, that it's going to grab the affection and the attention of people. And this is what he said he's going to do, the Lord will be awesome to them, for he would reduce to nothing. All the gods of the earth would be noticed as small gods in the sense that the different idols and things that people around the world worship, he's going to reduce to nothing. People shall worship him, each one from his place, indeed, all the shores of the nations. So that saying, there's going to be a global sense, from worldwide, that people are gonna hear of his terrible or awesome deeds, and that he's going to reduce to nothing that they used to claim to, and they are going to worship Him and serve Him. That's a veiled picture what happens when we see Jesus, and I'll
