The Coming Light

The world is a dark place. There is war, death, and oppression. But a Son has been promised, and with him will come the kingdom of light– a place where there is no darkness, no war, no death, no oppression. The people of the kingdom will be filled with joy and act as beacons of light to the world. And the prophesied Son who brought in this kingdom will be their king. He will be a king that rules with justice and righteousness forever. Jesus is this long-awaited Son and King of light. Peter urges us that while the world is presently dark, the knowledge of Jesus' identity and the coming kingdom is a shining lamp that will get us through to the new dawn.
