Blessed Be The Lord
Series 1 Kings: Chapters 1-16
21
In this account of the dedication of the temple, Solomon addressed God twice (vv.12-13, 22-53) and addressed the people twice (vv.14-21,56-61). Both of his addresses to the people began with, "Blessed be the Lord." Solomon in these remarks was God-centered and not man-centered--unlike so much of worship today.
Solomon said, "Blessed be the Lord" because:
1-The Lord is a promising God who keeps His promises (vv.15,20,56).
2-The Lord is a present God who keeps His people (vv.57-61).
