Jesus Cared for the World (Missions)

Our goal: Love those around us and draw them to Christ

1. Jesus came into the world to save the world ("world" used 80 times in John - much fewer in the other gospels) (John 1:9-13; 3:16-21; 6:33, 51; 8:12)
     A. His saving work is for all peoples ("whoever" used 33 times in John) (Matt 24; Rev 5; John 10:14-16; John 4:1-42; 12:20-26)
     B. His mission drives our mission
2. Jesus sends His people into the world as His witnesses
     A. His saving work is received by belief (John 6; John 8; John 12; John 16:8-10)
     B. His power is behind our mission (John 17:6, 13-18, 20-21)
